Genetec offers two types of video management services to ensure the availability and the security of your
system at all times, and to automate part of the maintenance process.
System Availability Monitor (SAM)
SAM is a service that collects and processes information about the health of a system. Its goal is to ensure that
everything is up and running at all times. If there is an issue, SAM will help you find the source of the problem.
Genetec Update Service (GUS)
GUS is a service that checks for new software and firmware versions for the different products deployed in
your organization. It checks for updates at regular intervals and advises you when something is available. It
automatically downloads updates in the background, which can then be pushed to the devices.
