Triage patient calls Simplify response when patients press existing nurse call buttons. The first available nurse is able to respond with a call by intercom, determining the patient's needs before dispatching someone in protective gear. Hospital reception Intercoms and video help staff register patients as they arrive and direct them to appropriate departments with minimal exposure. Virtual visitation At-risk populations, such as the elderly, may need to be isolated to minimize risk to their health, however this limits their ability to interact with loved ones during visiting hours. Computers set up with SIP applications can allow them to interact visually with visitors in a virtual visitation room while maintaining physical distancing, keeping them safe while maintaining their social support network. Page staff and make announcements Announce public messages or call staff members to particular duties through all connected intercoms, ensuring your announcements reach every room. Field clinic triage With pop-up clinics and emergency field hospitals, intercoms can help provide an initial, low-touch triage of patients before they are meeting hospital staff in-person. Managing equipment Intercoms can help centralize equipment and medication management, having staff call in to request access to storage closets to collect PPE or prescriptions. By tying in Synergis access control, the operator can remotely unlock the door while on the call under appropriate conditions.
