The primary server hosts the Main GUS instance. It keeps a local cache of downloaded packages, eliminating duplicate downloads. The Main GUS pushes notifications and update files to individual machines when an update is performed. Standalone connections are also available for both client and server machines. 1 2 3 4 Each server and client's current version and available updates are listed. The GUS validates the compatibility of updates with Security Center, installed plugins, and other Genetec systems, such as Mission Control.
