Cardholder Customer number, start/end date, and first, middle, and last names 2. Credential ISO +1 format, suspect/active/retired, start/end date 3. Access rules Access level, start/end date In this plugin, Illumia's ID system acts as a central repository for student, staff, and faculty information, including cardholder details, credential status, and access permissions. This data is then pushed in real time to Synergis, which automatically grants or denies access to campus areas based on these permissions. So when a cardholder's record changes in Illumia—a new enrollment, a residence move, a leave of absence, or a departure—Synergis instantly updates their access permissions across all campus areas. No manual intervention needed. The plugin also logs all physical access events, providing operators with a complete audit trail of campus movement tied to cardholder identity. Key outcomes Automating access management across the user lifecycle Streamline the administration of physical access by automatically synchronizing student, staff, and faculty lifecycle changes from Illumia into Synergis. As users are enrolled, move residences, update roles, or leave the institution, their access permissions are automatically provisioned or revoked—reducing manual effort and ensuring access records remain continuously up to date. Reducing security risk through real-time enforcement of access changes Strengthen campus security by ensuring that any change in identity status is immediately reflected in physical access control. When a user is suspended, graduates, or loses eligibility, Synergis enforces access restrictions in real time, helping prevent unauthorized access, close security gaps, and ensure only approved individuals can enter restricted areas. Improving operational visibility across campus systems Centralize credential and access activity data to better understand how facilities are being used across campus. Combined reporting and audit trails help support investigations, optimize operations, and improve decision- making related to staffing, residence management, and campus resources. Creating a seamless campus experience Enable a frictionless experience for students, staff, and faculty through automated credential management and mobile-enabled access. Real-time updates reduce service interruptions and ensure users consistently have the right access to campus spaces and services. This modernized approach can improve student satisfaction while supporting institutional goals around recruitment, retention, and campus modernization.
