Vulnerability affecting live video retrieval in Security Center 5.14.0.0
July 6th, 2026
A security vulnerability related to video retrieval services in Security Center 5.14.0.0 has been identified by the Genetec engineering team. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation.
Risk assessment
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability (CVE-2026-55727) could result in unintended retrieval of live video content.
Details
A flaw in the validation logic for video stream requests was introduced in Security Center 5.14.0.0, resulting in the incomplete verification of client authentication when retrieving live video.
Affected deployments
- Self-hosted deployments of Security Center 5.14.0.0 with video management services
- Select instances of Security Center SaaS Edition (Classic), which have already been patched
While customers using -video encryption via the fusion stream- are affected, the impact is greatly reduced because no video playback is possible.
Recommendation
Customers are strongly advised to install the- mandatory hotfix for 5.14.0.0- as soon as possible. Applying the patch ensures proper enforcement of authentication checks and fully mitigates the risk of unauthorized access to video streams.
Workarounds
If customers cannot apply the remediation in a timely fashion,- enabling fusion stream video encryption-or restricting network access to trusted systems can help reduce exposure.
