State of Physical Security 2020 Genetec Inc. 7 Across the world, physical security practitioners are looking to existing systems to help them in managing their new reality. The adoption of new technology seems primarily focused on addressing COVID-19 related safety and security concerns. Moving into 2021, responses indicate that organizations will continue to invest with a priority on improving existing systems and looking at temperature reading, occupancy management, remote capabilities, and perimeter protection to support the new reality. Other items top of mind to respondents included video analytics (people tracking, PPE compliance monitoring/ mask recognition), and training staff on sanitization and new safety measures.
