What is Federation?
Genetec Federation™ allows agencies to consolidate live
monitoring, video searches, alarm management and health
reporting from many independent sites. Through this single
application, both publicly and privately-owned and operated
agencies can share vital information while maintaining strict rights
and privileges that allow them to remain in compliance with the
connected systems.
How Federation works
Federation is powered by an advanced architecture that
synchronizes cameras, doors, intrusion panels, and related events
and alarms between sites in real-time and with no
manual intervention.
As a result, you no longer need to connect to each site individually
or manually sync data between them, facilitating the management
of multiple locations. Built to scale, Federation allows you to
connect to hundreds or thousands of remote access control and
video devices.
Also, you can decide what level of access you want to provide to
the Federation™ Host, depending on the circumstances. Let's take
a bank, for example. During regular times, you might not want to
provide access to cameras inside the bank. However, during an
alarm, you might want to provide full access.
