7. Disclaimer of liabilities.
The Participant acknowledges that the goal of the Community Connect™ program is to
make it quicker and easier for the Police Department to investigate illegal and criminal
activity on or near the Surveilled Premises.
This program is not a replacement for any emergency assistance or other 911 services. In
case of any emergencies or immediate danger situations, the Participant must contact 911
and/or other appropriate authorities. Even if the Security System has internet connectivity,
the Police Department does not guarantee and has no control over whether the video stream
from the Security System will be delivered in real-time, immediately viewed, accessed by or
responded to by the Police Department or other emergency services.
As such, by participating in the Community Connect™ Program, the Participant understands
that under no circumstance shall the Police Department have any liability whatsoever for:
a. any illicit, illegal or criminal activity that may take place at or near the Surveilled
Premises, even if captured by the Security System;
b. any injury, theft, damages or other losses that may result from any such illegal
or criminal activity that may take place at or near the Surveilled Premises, even
if captured by the Security System;
c. any failure to capture or monitor any footage by the Security System in real time;
d. any costs or issues associated with the acquisition, operation, support,
replacement or management of the Participant's Genetec™ Stratocast™
account, any internet connection, or the Security System.
The Participant's participation in the Community Connect™ program does not make of the
Participant an agent of the law, and does not grant to the Participant any of the rights or
duties of the Police Department.
8. General.
This agreement, and the relationship between the parties hereto shall be governed
by the laws applicable in the
