The City of Folsom deploys Genetec enclosure management solutions

At the City of Folsom, Shane Flaming is the Senior Traffic Signal and Lighting Technician. Having held various roles in the city's signal department over the past 19 years, he's now responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of all traffic signals, pedestrian crosswalks, and street lights in Folsom. That includes managing a crew of technicians, coordinating with external contractors, and making sure all critical traffic and lighting infrastructure is running well so residents and visitors can live and drive safely. Recently we caught up with Shane about why he felt it was time to equip the city's traffic cabinets with online enclosure management solutions. He shared the challenges of using old mechanical locks and keys, how the city is benefitting from network-connected solutions, and why expansion plans are definitely on the horizon.
