BYU enhances campus security through unification

Brigham Young University (BYU) is home to over 34,000 students and 5,000 staff and faculty. Using Genetec™ unified solutions, campus police and security officers collaborate to protect the 560-acre campus in the middle of Provo, Utah.

Their on-campus dispatch center is the hub for their security operations. Using the Genetec unified platform, they’re able to streamline security operations, proactively respond to potential threats, or react quickly in emergencies. “One of the benefits of having this unification with Genetec is that we can get the real-time information when the officers who are responding need it. They can pull up the cameras that are associated with that location and be able to tell the officer what they see,” notes Chris Autry, Managing Director, BYU Police & Security.
